Terms & conditions
What a quote means, what books as one visit, what we hand on to a specialist, and what happens if something we did does not hold.
01
Who these terms are between
These terms run between NJ Multiskilled Handyman and whoever books the work. They start when a quote is accepted and a date is agreed, and they cover that job — a later job starts them over.
02
One visit, several trades
The point of this business is that a job crossing plumbing, electrical and carpentry books as one visit rather than three. Where a list spans trades we price it as a whole. If part of that list turns out to need a licensed specialist, we take the rest and tell you plainly which piece we are not touching.
03
Estimates versus quotes
A figure given on the phone is an estimate based on your description. It is not a fixed price and we will say as much when we give it. Once somebody has seen the work, the quote is firm. If opening the job up reveals something nobody could have known about from the doorstep, we stop, tell you what changed and what it costs, and carry on only once you have said to.
04
Work we hand on
Service panel work, gas lines and structural alterations need a licensed specialist. We say so as early as we can spot it and we do not charge for saying it.
05
Getting to the work
We need access to the property at the time booked and to the area being worked in. Where something on site makes it unsafe to carry on — an isolator that will not hold, unexpected live services, a floor that will not take weight — we stop and agree the next move with you rather than working around it.
06
Changing a booking
We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If a booked visit needs moving or cancelling, call as early as you can and we will find another slot.
07
Payment
Payment is due on completion, once you have seen the work and are satisfied it is done — unless a larger job has been agreed in advance on different terms.
08
Our workmanship
If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did it, call and we will come back and put it right. That covers our labour. It does not cover parts or appliances supplied by others, which carry their own manufacturer terms, nor fair wear, accidental damage, or later work by another trade.
09
Licensing and insurance
We are registered and insured as a handyman business, and we will confirm both on request. Those are the only credentials claimed anywhere on this site.
10
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New Jersey.
11
If these terms change
The revised version appears on this page. The terms that apply to your job are the ones published on the day you booked it.
